Object Spy doesn't recognize elements
The Object Spy usually works for me, but I still have some issues with these specific devices and browsers:
Samsung Galaxy Mini 2, Version: 2.3.6
HTC Sense 3.6, Version 4.0.3
"Object Spy" - Doesn't recognize *any* element onscreen.
Samsung Galaxy S3, Version: 4.1.2 – Chrome + Native
Samsung Galaxy S4, Version: 4.3 – Native
"Object Spy" - Doesn't recognize elements in *websites* (only recognizes elements related to the app: i.e: search box, relaunch button, etc).
Are these models not supported?
Is there any other way to automate websites with Chrome & Native browser without having to use the Object Spy to detect elements?
Thanks in advance!
All devices mentioned in the post are supported.
Object spy on the device level is supported from version 4.1 and onwards.
In order to work and interact with WEB elements we issued the "Experitest Browser" that comes with SeeTest installation.
To learn more on the browser use our online guide:
About other browsers - It is not possible to instrument the Chrome browser (or the Safari, for the iOS users) and the only way to interact with it is to use the Object Spy on the device level or image recognition.
I've the same issue with Sony devices (F3111 (Xperia XA)- Android 6.0 & E5823 (Xperia Z5) - Android 6.0.1).
Object Spy only identify the widgets like Google search, Clock, and some other strange fields without any icon behind (on the home screen).
But the Application icons which I need to start for any action are not recognised. The problem now is that if I replay my recorded session completely different elements are clicked and launched so that I can't use Seetest for automating Sony testing.
Is there any hint from your side?
Please install Google Now Launcher from the PlayStore to your sony device.
Once installed, try to identify the objects in the screen.
